Explore Fujiyoshida: Iconic Mt. Fuji Views, Retro Streets & Ancient Shrines (Free Goodwiil Tour)

The tour lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes
Available in English

Description

Welcome to Fujiyoshida! Many tourists take photos at Honcho Street and Chureito Pagaoda and then leave, missing our deep history.

As a local working for the Fujiyoshida City Office, I host this walking tour to share our culture with travelers from abroad.
This tour is 100% free as a civic goodwill initiative. No tips are expected, and there are no commercial stops.

Choose Your Route
When you contact me, please choose one of these 1-2hour walking journeys:

Route A: Shimoyoshida Heritage Walk
Explore the historic heart of town. Walk the iconic Honcho Street for classic views of Mt. Fuji. Discover the 1,000-year textile history of Kinuyamachi, wander the nostalgic 1950s drinking alleys of the Nishiura district, and visit the quiet Omuro Sengen Shrine.

Route B: Kamiyoshida Pilgrim Walk
Follow the sacred paths of historic mountain climbers. Walk through the Oshimachi district to see traditional Edo-period pilgrim lodging houses, and finish at the magnificent Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine, surrounded by giant, ancient cedar trees.

Meeting Place Note: We will meet at Fujikyu Line Shimoyoshida Station for Route A, or Fujisan Station for Route B.
