From the Beginning: A Free Walking Tour of Old City Philadelphia
The tour lasts 2 hours
Available in English
Description
Strap on your walking shoes and join me as we (the people) explore Old City and discover how America came to be.
Few cities pack as much national history while maintaining a strong local identity but Philadelphia manages this in style.
In 2 short hours we will cover everything from William Penn and the Quakers to the declaration of independence and the revolution to the constitution and the modern day.
As well as history and politics, we will talk about sports, food, drink, architecture and what daily life is like in Philadelphia.
I am professional free tour guide with over a decade's experience guiding visitors and cannot wait to show you the foundation on which America has been built.
Highlights include:
- Washington Square Park
- Independence Hall
- The Liberty Bell
- The 1st & 2nd Banks of the US
- Carpenter's Hall
- Elfreth's Alley
- Christ Church & the grave of Benjamin Franklin
- The National Constitution Center
So in the words of Ben Franklin, "join or die" (not really but I will tell you what he meant by that)
