Berlin in one tour – everything you need to see
The tour lasts 3 hours
Available in Italian
Description
If you're thinking of doing just one tour in Berlin, this is the one for you.
Short on time and want to see the must-see sights? In three hours, we'll traverse the capital's city center, from the city's great icons to the most surprising traces of its history, spanning Prussia, the Empire, National Socialism, the Cold War, the GDR, and reunification.
We'll start at Alexanderplatz, with the TV Tower, and head towards the city's historic heart: the Rotes Rathaus, the medieval Marienkirche, and Museum Island. We'll see the Berlin Cathedral and the Royal Palace, before continuing along Unter den Linden to the Brandenburg Gate.
From here we will enter the most dramatic twentieth century. We will stop at the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe and talk about Hitler's bunker, before observing the traces left by socialist propaganda and the symbols of the GDR in the heart of the city.
We will then arrive at Checkpoint Charlie, one of the places that more than any other tells the story of divided Berlin and the Cold War.
The tour ends at the Sony Center at Potsdamer Platz, where the border that separated West and East Berlin for decades is now almost impossible to recognize.
Transportation: We'll also use the subway during the tour. A valid Berlin public transportation ticket is required.

The Berlin Together Free Tours are structured as a single itinerary and designed to complement each other, without overlapping in terms of stops or content. I recommend starting with "Berlin Together Free Tour – Places of History," the introductory tour dedicated to the major transformations that have shaped Berlin and Europe over the last century. The "Berlin Together Free Tour" is particularly suitable if you've decided to take just one guided tour of Berlin. If you're planning on taking other free tours in Italian, it's the best way to begin exploring the city. Our other free tours delve into specific themes of Berlin's history and identity: the Cold War, the GDR, and the Wall; the memorials to the victims of Nazism; the historic center; street art; and the capital's most iconic neighborhoods, Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg.
