Brussels: A City of Many Layers

  • 2 hours
  • Dutch

Description

Brussels is much more than beautiful buildings, Belgian waffles and Manneken Pis. It's a city with many layers, where medieval history, royal ambitions, revolutions, fascinating legends, and everyday life come together.

Join me for a relaxed and entertaining walk through the heart of Brussels, from the magnificent Grand Place to the elegant Upper Town, where kings and rulers once held their power. Along the way, we'll discover some of Brussels' most iconic landmarks, but also the surprising stories and little details that many visitors simply walk past.

Please note that the order of the tour may vary depending on roadworks or other unforeseen circumstances.
No endless lists of dates or complicated history lessons! Instead, expect engaging stories, local anecdotes, surprising facts, a little humour and a friendly atmosphere.

As a Belgian local, I love showing visitors how the different layers of Brussels fit together, from the medieval trading town to the royal and modern capital.

Salut en de kost!

Hi, I'm Steffen! After a long career in finance, I decided to follow my passion: sharing my love for Brussels, a city where I've spent decades living and working. Brussels has many layers, many faces and countless stories. I'd love to show you them all! Forget endless dates and boring history lessons! Expect famous landmarks, hidden gems, colourful legends and surprising stories along the way. My native language is Dutch, but I'm also very comfortable in French and English, so I can easily adapt to the group.
