Great tour with lots of memorable stories

Great afternoon walk with Jose, and as he said mainly downhill! Loads of information and history about the university and surrounding areas. Little bits of personal local info made the walk very entertaining. I would suggest getting a bus to the top of the university for the beginning of the walk. Google maps had us climbing almost vertical 115 steps to get to the university area, and we are in our late 70s! Jose is a great guide and made the walk very enjoyable.

Jose was incredibly enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He had a binder of pictures that was really helpful to understand the history and context of the places we’ve visited. It was quite a climb uphill but he made frequent stops along the way, and we didn’t feel tired at all. We made it to the top quite easily. It was a fantastic time. Highly recommend!

Jose was an amazing guide! He answered all questions and provided truly interesting information about all the sites, and additional context about what we could do in Coimbra outside of his tour. 10/10 recommended!

El tour fue muy interesante y da una muy buena imagen de los lugares de Coimbra que no te puedes perder. Especial mención merece, la guru, Ines. Aunque fui yo solo, el tour fue fantástico, explicando todo con muchas ganas y emoción . Contestando siempre a todas las preguntas.

Irene lo explica todo muy bien y ha elegido bien el recorrido. Da información sobre precios y entradas, lo que resulta muy útil para planificar el resto del día. Antes de empezar, nos dijo donde podíamos comprar agua. Yo ya sabía que Coimbra tenía muchas cuestas, pero conviene recordarlo por si alguien va sin saberlo y no lleva el calzado más adecuado (aunque, por suerte, casi todo el mundo lleva hoy en día calzado deportivo).

Having done many walking tours all over the world, Roger’s walk was one of the most entertaining we have participated in. Roger had a delightful way of sharing knowledge of history, culture and tall tales. The walk was thoroughly enjoyable, a great mix of humour and knowledge. No better way to understand Coimbra. He also provided many great recommendations for things to do and places to eat.

Joao was terrific. There were only the two of us on this tour and he did a full, professional tour the whole way. He was very informative and easy to talk with. Not only did we feel completely comfortable with him but his tour was full of knowledge and interesting tidbits. We learned so much about Coimbra and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Highly recommend!

The tour was great. Our guide provided a page of very helpful information and had lots of great visual aids. He loaned everyone a quiet vox so we could hear him. We enjoyed hearing about his experience as a student at the University. He got us up to the university without anyone getting too tired on the climb..

Great show and learned many interesting facts about Porto old and new. Mellisa is a great guide!

Our guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable about her city. She had been a student at the university so knew it's layout and the traditions and stories of it very well and gave us tips on the city she understood and loved. Wonderful storyteller who brought the tour to life.
