Hallo Abenteurer! Mein Name ist Kenya! Ich komme ursprünglich aus Indonesien, bin in Kenia geboren und habe ein ganzes Jahrzehnt in Marokko verbracht. Ich spreche fließend Englisch, Französisch und Indonesisch: Ich bin euer Sprachen-Ninja :). Als ich im Ausland aufwuchs, habe ich einen Pass voller Freundschaften und eine Liebe für die vielfältige Schönheit von Ländern und Kulturen gewonnen. Jetzt, zurück in Indonesien, habe ich das Leben in einem Backpacker-Hostel angenommen – ich treffe faszinierende Menschen aus allen Gesellschaftsschichten und tausche gerne Wissen aus. Teil dieser Hostel-Begegnungen zu sein, hat in mir den Wunsch geweckt, meine unglaubliche Stadt zu präsentieren. Menschen können Kulturen von Tausenden ethnischer Gruppen entdecken, Gerichte aus verschiedenen Ecken Indonesiens genießen und in seine einzigartigen Traditionen eintauchen. Einige Leute sagen vielleicht, dass neue Reisende „so schnell wie möglich aus Jakarta verschwinden“ sollen, aber ich bin hier, um ihnen das Gegenteil zu beweisen! Jakarta ist mein Spielplatz und ich möchte ihm seine lebhafte, pulsierende und ausgesprochen charmante Seite zeigen. Kenya was not available on that day but she managed to get a proper guide to do the tour instead of her. Andre was very local and knew everyone so it was a very authentic experience among the different street food spots. We even went to a bar to have a drink and listen to some music! We were a small group and Andre was extremely flexible with the time, taste and route to adjust accordingly!
Kenya was a great guide. Everything was well organized. The tour is good to have an overview of the socio-historical context. Timing was perfect not to get tired and we explored the city using also public transportation with tickets provided by Kenia.
Kenya was an amazing tour guide and prepared a great walk-through Jakarta.many people say there’s not much to see in the city, but she proved them wrong with a lot of facts about the history of Indonesia and the city. She gave us a clear image about how every day life of Indonesian is in the city and I was really grateful for attending the tour
Kenya shared alot of about the present-day situation of Jakarta, and the different culture of different parts of Jakarta, which was very interesting to me. We looked at the Jakarta skyline from the library, then took a bus to old town, where she talked about Jakarta sinking and the Dutch colonial history. We tried jamu which was a fun experience, then visited a wayang kulit (and other puppets) shop, and Chinatown, where she also introduced some snacks. We walked for 4.5 hours, it was a pretty extensive introduction to Jakarta. She always checked up on us during the trip, and also gave me food recommendations after which was really nice! We highly recommend Kenya! She was so knowledgeable and gave us a great overview of Jakarta. She also customized the tour to our interests making it a wonderful afternoon.
