Hey Adventurers!
My name is Kenya! I'm originally from Indonesia, born in Kenya, and seasoned in Morocco for a whole decade.
I'm fluent in English , French, and Indonesian: I'm your language ninja:).
Growing up abroad gifted me a passport full of friendships and a love for the diverse beauty of countries and cultures. Now back in Indonesia, I've embraced the backpacker hostel life—meeting fascinating people from all walks of life and happily trading knowledge.
Being part of these hostel encounters has sparked my desire to showcase my incredible city. Make people discovering
cultures stemming from thousands of ethnic groups, savoring cuisines from various corners of Indonesia, and immersing ourselves in its one-of-a-kind traditions.
However, some folks might say new travelers to "get out of Jakarta as fast as you can", but I'm here to prove them wrong! Jakarta is my playground, and I'm eager to showcase its lively, vibrant, and downright charming side.
So, buckle up for a tour filled with laughter, delightful culinary surprises, and the warmest smiles Jakarta has to offer. I'm not just a guide; I'm your humorous, friendly, and ever-helpful companion. Let's make your Jakarta adventure unforgettable! 😄🌍🍜
Great tour. Kenya was very knowledgeable about her city and led a great tour. I would recommend to anyone.
Kenya is great, funny, friendly and gives a good vibe! Better than expected!
Kenya is an absolutely outstanding guide who made our experience unforgettable. Her exceptional insight and deep knowledge brought every aspect of our journey to life. Thanks to her expertise, we found ourselves fully immersed in the rich tapestry of Indonesian history and culture, gaining a profound appreciation for the traditions and stories of this incredible region. Kenya's thoughtful approach ensured that the tour was not only comprehensive but also engaging, covering all the key elements we hoped to see while weaving in fascinating details that truly enriched our understanding. We couldn't have asked for a better guide—she is a true gem!
As I was the only one who had registered for the walk, we had a great time and where flexible. As it was Friday, we could not go to the Istaqlil mosque and therefore also missed the cathedral. But we started by entering the National Library of Indonesia and from the 24th floor's balconies we had a great view on Jakarta's smoggy downtown and the Independence Square with the Monas. From there we took the bus to Chinatown, for which Kenya had chipcards. We strolled through markets, enjoyed some food and drinks and finally landed at Kotatua, the old (Dutch) part of the town. After a drink at the newly opened Tugu cafe we took the train back to Menteng. She had taken many pics and some videos which she supplied me with via Google. Thanks for more than the expected 3 hours, they were very enjoying!
Amazing tour! Kenya is very knowledgeable and I learned a lot about Indonesian history, culture, religion, and politics. Highly recommend!
