Free Walking Tours in Jakarta

This tour gave us a view of Jakarta that we wouldn't have been able to see on our own. Fajz was informative and so easy going, like we were walking with a friend in his home town.

We had a really great day on this walking tour! We visited many different places, which gave us a great impression of Jakarta and its culture. We got to see and experience so much of the city that we probably wouldn’t have discovered on our own. It was a fun and interesting way to explore Jakarta, and we would definitely recommend this tour!

The tour was great! It says that it has few stops, but it is not true, they cover everything. Edy was an amazing tour guide, very warm and kind, he gave me many information and made me feel very safe. Even with just being me and him, I had a great time and I feel I understand Jakarta better.

The tour with Edy was fantastic 🤩 A great way to learn about the city, the stories and the history of it. My guide was super accommodating and flexible with the stops and the time frame. He shared with me his personal experiences and made me feel safe. With him I had a chance to see places I would be scared to visit on my own.

Besuchen Sie das Nationaldenkmal und spazieren Sie dann durch den Präsidentenpalast. Besuchen Sie auch die Istiqlal-Moschee und die gegenüber der Istiqlal-Moschee gelegene Kathedrale.

First of all, Fajz was so kind to accomodate us on his walking tour last minute (half hour before the start), after another guru with whom we booked stood us up. From the start he was very responsive, also shared a lot of information and recommendations via WhatsApp. The tour itself was much more than we expected- it included a boat ride, taing local bus and train so we could really learn how locals go about their day. Fajz is super knowledgable, had answers (and patience ;)) for our questions and also made the tour longer to accomodate preferences of the group (to include the harbor tour, made sure to organize the tour of the mosque for the group despite the fact local guides there were not available). Me & my husband took many free walking tours and must say it was one of the best we ever took. Fajz was extraordinarily attentive, his style is engaging, funny and needless to say - perfect English so no one had trouble understanding. Very informative, tour is also diverse - from markets, through monuments, temples and last but not least - when you see „free snacks” in the description - prepare to get your belly stuffed! We expected maybe to try 1 or 2 things, yet with Fajz proceeded to feed us with around 10 (!!!) local delicacies! Hesitate no more and book with him!

Rezky was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide, he gave local insights of Jakarta v bhi,and knows good photo spots. The tour was well planned & punctual, we get to go inside a mosque, a cathedral and a temple in a single tour! We took KRL to Kota Tua from Juanda station to Jakarta Kota station. Ended the tour at Jakarta Chinatown gate. Thank you Rezky for the memorable walking tour! (He knows Giring Ganesha)

Probably the best GuruWalk we’ve ever had. It was professional, but still felt raw, authentic and not touristy at all. We expected the usual 2-3 hour tour with 5 quick stops, like many tours where you just walk around, hear a few facts and leave a tip. Instead, we spent around 5-6 hours together. We tried local food, visited favelas, historical places, mosques, the old town and the market, and even took a boat ride and a cab ride. It felt much more like experiencing the city with a local than just following a standard tourist route.

Andy was incredible, knowledgeable and gorgeous- highly recommend!!

Stadtrundfahrt in Jakarta

Mr. Andy is chill, but speaks English pretty well. We had lots of interesting conversations about culture and history, and he answered a lot of my questions about Indonesia and its geography, languages and people groups. I was the only one on the tour, and so I got a good 1-on-1 experience. He also listened to my perspective and stories. Just be mindful that you will pay for the tuk-tuk from the Catholic Church to Chinatown!

Ha sido de los mejores tours que he hecho, es muy difícil mostrar una ciudad desde una perspectiva tan real y con semejante talante. Ha sido una gran experiencia, lo recomendaría a todos mis conocidos

Honestly, it was way better than expected. The guide was amazing, very friendly and helpful. He explained us many interesting things about the city. We had a perfect experience and saw so many places in around 5 hours. If this is your first time in Jakarta and don't have much time, I believe this is the best way to get the essence of Indonesia in a short time.

We are just learning about Jakarta, but I think this is probably a very important tour to take. Ade does a wonderful job. He is a very professional, very kind and entertaining in the heat. A 4-hour tour is a little too long, especially in hit temperatures; the boat ride is completely unnecessary and added little value ir enjoyment to the day. Ade added an extra for us though, the UNESCO Wayang traditional puppet thestre of Indonesia. What a wow!!!

Kenya did such a lovely job. We were 5 people in the end and she based the route and stops on what we would like to eat/ try out. Really enjoyed it and such a nice way to dive into Indonesian cuisine.

Jakarta Night Street Food: Aromen nach Einbruch der Dunkelheit

Mai fatto un tour così. La nostra guida ha pensato a tutto: spostamenti a piedi, col treno, in bus, col tuc tuc e in barca. Abbiamo assaggiato street food e mangiato snack buonissimi.

Maybe the best walking tour I ever did. The tour was really good and we saw places where you normally would never come.
