Maks is very professionell, she speaks very clear and understandable. She gave a lot of information, not only about the historic buildings, but also about handcraft and Usbekistan traditions. Very recommendable tour.
Maks is by far the most professional, knowledgeable guide I have ever met. It has far exceeded any paid guide I have had in other cities around the world. I hope there is a global network of professional guides like her. She introduced handicrafts, architecture (its use during ancient times, Soviet, and present) and Uzbek modern life. She also took us to the bazaar and introduced local food, diet, and ways of life. I am so impressed and I literally couldn’t imagine anything better. It fulfilled all of my desires of learning about the city’s 2500 year history (from Zoroastrian and bubddist beliefs to Islam, mongol and Russian invasion to the long history of Silk Road and trade) she actually knows the history extremely well and I feel like I learned so so incredibly much about what role Bukhara played in history. I love the balance of tradition and modernity that was embedded in this tour. The route was also well designed. We saw many historical sites and she was very clear about which parts were original and which parts were reconstructed, as well as what features belonged to what beliefs and what are the debates around what certain things symbolizes. She was able to answer questions, contextual use narratives, and gave analytical rather than judgmental comments about what happened in each era. Truly a very professional historian,

I took several city tours during my trip to Uzbekistan, and Maks made this one of Bukhara exceptional. She was was the perfect guide to introduce me to the city and its unique culture; she is extremely knowledgeable, in depth but also about a variety of subjects, and showed us many of the interesting and important areas and landmarks in the city. She also gave many useful recommendations, and I had the opportunity to ask her any questions I had about the country and the city.
