Hallo und herzlich willkommen! Mein Name ist Aiguerim (sprich: „I“ + „grün“, nur mit einem „m“ statt „n“ am Ende 😉), aber du kannst mich Amy nennen! 🙋♀️ Ich bin zertifizierte Stadtführerin in Almaty, der südlichen Hauptstadt Kasachstans, auch bekannt als Apfelstadt 🍎. Ich habe zunächst im Journalismus gearbeitet, dann Englisch als Nachhilfelehrerin unterrichtet und auch Russisch für Ausländer gegeben. Ich koche, wandere, singe, reise und liebe Sprachen – neben Englisch habe ich auch Spanisch gelernt – el español, la lengua más linda! ☺️ Ich habe bereits elf Länder bereist und plane, noch weitere zu besuchen! Ich freue mich darauf, dir meine wunderschöne Stadt zu zeigen! Obwohl ich im Norden Kasachstans geboren wurde, lebe ich seit 17 Jahren in Almaty und liebe diese Stadt! Ich finde Almaty ganz besonders: ein Ort, an dem nomadisches, imperiales, sowjetisches und postkoloniales Erbe aufeinandertreffen und eine einzigartige Mischung bilden! I'm so glad I joined Amy's tour as a solid foundation to Almaty and Kazakhstan. She's a ray of sunshine in an otherwise "cold" region. She also touched on the general overview of how things are like here from locals perspective, which later helped me to appreciated the pieces on display at the Almaty Musuem of Arts. Green Bazaar was definitely a highlight too with all the tastings available, and you'd get some guidance on what's an appropriate price range to pay when you return. Amy's tour is a must
Aiguerim was a fantastic guide! She gave us a lot of insights into Kazakh history and culture, had practical tips and showed us great sights in Almaty. As it was Monday, the bazaar was closed but instead she took us to the chocolate factory and we got to try delicious chocolate. After the tour, she sent us a lot of follow up info and even helped us with other questions we had.
I didn't have that much time in Almaty so taking the tour with Aiguerim was great for exploring many places in the city within a short time. She was very friendly and excited about the information she was providing. Because we were a small group and all very interested she took even more time than originally planned to answer all our questions. Great tour - definitely worth it!! :)
