Born and raised in the heart of Bukhara city, I remember walking by historical buildings and seeing how amazed visitors were by my hometown and its architecture. This stuck with me and is most probably the reason I am a tour guide today.
After finishing school, I studied at the Institute of Oriental Studies. Now back in my beloved Bukhara, I also work part-time in the city’s History Museum as a researcher when not leading tours. This allows me to share more in-depth information with my most curious guests!
Married with two sons, I spend most of my spare time with my family. I also enjoy chess, ping pong and learning languages.
The tour with Alex has been a great experience, highly recommended if you want to learn something more Bukhara, from a real local! Alex is a very good and well prepared guide!
I’ve traveled more than 50 cities, joined countless walking tours, Alex, is one of the best guide! He is very knowledgeable, passionate, friendly and funny. It’s not easy for six of us to understand the long and complicated history of Uzbekistan but his way of explaining made everything easy to understand. It was a hot summer day (almost 40), but he was very patient to took us around the ancient city. Very knowledgeable and funny. We highly recommend Alex !
I had a wonderful time with Alex. He is very patient and knowledgeable. It's important to do a walking tour of Bukhara to understand the city's history and culture. And Alex was amazing. I learnt a lot.
Alex was a great tour guide. He knows a lot and is clearly very passionate. We mostly went into the more distant past.
