Great snacks and good stories

1. Started on time and ended about 3.5 hours later (although advertised as 2.5-hour tour) 2. Very detailed information on historical/heritage buildings probably best appreciated by history buffs or those with a cultural background of Southeast Asia or Malaysia more generally, and the Straits Settlements more specifically 3. Very approachable, knowledgeable and eager to please, exactly the kind of host you'd expect and wish for especially when traveling solo in an unfamiliar place; feel very well taken care of 4. Great food choices, and very reasonable costs (RM20 per person in a group of 5) The tour is focused on Indian spices and food in Penang/Malaysia, and may be a lil too much if you aren't as interested or invested in the same or prefer a more compact tour in half the time. For me it was leisurely and thoroughly enjoyable and I'd do it again with a partner to partake in the fun. Entertainment value can be enhanced with pop quizzes & small prizes relevant to the tour rather than one-sided info sharing that can be rather overwhelming at times. Still your tour companions matter, and I've had much luck with mine.

Para mí como viajera por el mundo ha sido el primer food tour pq lo he considerado aburrido, pero lPooiLing me ha convencido de lo contrario .Nos explicó mucho sobre los diferentes comidas de las tantas naciones reunidas aquí en Malasia, sobre origen y uso de tantas especies aparte de algo de historia. Pooi ling è una guida molto preparata e che trasmette l'amore per quello che ti sta raccontando. Non ti fa mai sentire obbligato a provare qualcosa ed è molto disponibile Ed aperta alle domande.

Pooi hat uns sehr viel Wissen über die Stadt und die typischen Gerichte vermittelt. Wir haben so viele leckere Gerichte probiert! Absolute Empfehlung!

Pooi was fantastic. She gave un a diverse food tour of little India. We went to several stalls to try a variety of food. She also took us to a spice market. She was fun, interesting and knowledgeable about the history of Penang. I highly recommend taking this tour with Pooi.

Las ciudad nos estaba parecido un poco sin mas antes de empezar el free tour y con ella vimos que era mas de lo que pensábamos. Nos explicó cosas realmente interesantes sobre la cultura india y nos llevó a diferentes puestos de comida que seguramente solas nunca hubiésemos probado.

Tour altamente recomendable, si estás interesado en la cultura gastronómica de Penang (que es uno de los grandes atractivos del lugar). Éramos 5 personas, con una guía muy informativa y agradable. Paras en muchísimos puestecillos de comida y ella va pidiendo las cosas para todos: desde snacks, samosas, sopas tipo porridge, varios platos típicos... Lo ideal es desayunar pero no comer, dado que empieza a las 4, para ir con hambre y probar las distintas cosas. Me encantó este tour!!!
