Free walking tours in Lusaka

I really enjoyed this walking tour with our guide Darius. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about Lusaka and its history. I was able to visit parts of Lusaka that I would not have seen otherwise, and it was great to learn about the city from a local. I definitely recommend this tour!

There are plenty of things I liked in this tour - the depth of the conversations; the walk around the business center in Lusaka; Darius and his personality! I higly recommend it

Unfortunately the walking tour got a bit washed out with really heavy rain so Darius gave us a tour using his car ....we went to a few places and Darius was informative.....pity about the rain

Darius is extremely knowledgeable and a great communicator. We came away with a good understanding and new appreciation of Zambia . Darius knows a lot about Zambia, past and present , and is a wonderful ambassador for his country. Highly recommended.

We took the tour as a couple and were very happy. Darius guided us very good, we could ask him all our questions and he gave us interesting background info. We can really recommend 👍

Darius provided a fascinating insight into the political history of Zambia and showed me parts of Lusaka that I never would have seen otherwise. The tour can be adapted based on what you really want to see and know - it’s pretty casual and unstructured. I recommend asking lots of questions and asking Darius to take you to the places you’re interested in to really get the most out of the tour. Highly recommend going as far as the market. Wear comfy shoes and prepare for lots of walking.

Darius is a good guide .. He knows the city well and gives entertaining tours.. Be aware of the minimum charge for the tour

We could immediately tell who's going to be our guide by the optimistic attitude he came to greet us! He was openminded, answered to all of the questions, smiley and just a great guide! If you choose this tour, be ready for walking! 😄 We enjoyed it!

Darius was great! Super friendly, easy to talk to, and since it was just me and him on the tour, we were able to trade a lot of cultural information. We hit the most important spots of central Lusaka fairly quickly, which helped me orient myself over the next week of work in the city.

Darius’s tour is a must-do when visiting Lusaka! Even on a 1-to-1 basis, the tour gave a great welcome to Zambia and was packed with useful information. I found him to be very engaging, friendly and kind. We laughed a lot and the time spent on the tour flew by very quickly for all the right reasons. 5 stars!

Darius is a super kind hardworking guy and has a passion for his business. I was the only one taking the tour yesterday and we talked alot about life in Zambia. You can ask Darius anything and by doing so you can learn a lot about life here. 10/10 would recommend!!

Lusaka does not have a lot of touristy things to do. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the walking tour with Darius. He is very knowledgeable about the city and I learned a lot about the history of Zambia on our walk. He even agreed to us taking a detour to Soweto Market. The walk is long so please do wear some comfortable shoes.

Darius was fantastic and did his very best and is very very nice. Truth is Lusaka does not have huge points of touristic interest but it was very worth doing as it showed that the beautiful safaris in Zambia is not necessarily reflective of what is happening in the city centre. The point that Darius made however is that there are not many if any Zambians refugees.. the people are happy.. thank you Darius.. I would certainly recommend him if you wish to see the true Lusaka. Had a great day out with Darius my tour guide for the day. We did lots of walking and talking and I learnt a lot about the City. We also travelled on public transport and ate a local dish - Chikanda (which is a must for anyone visiting Lusaka). I felt very safe throughout the tour and would recommend using Darius as your guide in Lusaka.

Generally a good tour considering Lusaka is hard to cover. The places visited were still not the bests, and insisting to give more than 20$ tip at the end was inappropriate.

Put on your comfortable walking shoes for this amazing walking tour through Lusaka! There may not be a lot of 'touristy' sights to see, but the city is bustling with activity. Let Darius walk you through the downtown core and get a sense of what day to day life is like in the city. Ask lots of questions, Darius is a wealth of information!

Darius did a great job and it is not his fault that there is not much to see in Lusaka, we went through a vivid market and saw government buildings and the tourist market. Darius is knowledgeable about Lusaka and Zambia but also knows what is going around in the world, it was a pleasure to walk around Lusaka with him.

I absolutely LOVED this tour. I was the only person on the tour, so it was really nice to get to know Darius and learn more about Zambia and Zambian culture on a personal basis. He took me all kinds of neat places that I would have never thought to have seen. Lusaka is not very touristy, but it is a great place to see “real” life. Darius was excellent at bringing me through the streets to see what everyday life is like. After the tour, he even showed me some local food vendors and we had lunch together. Overall, this tour is incredibly unique and well worth your time! Thank you, Darius!

Darius is such a warm personality and highly motivated guide (recommendable!). I truly enjoyed walking thought the business district of Lusaka. The tour of the National Museum is a must have during the walking tour of Lusaka. Having a local dish is a recommendable great way to end the tour. All respect for Darius who does a great job there; a true sample of excellent tour guide!
