Chengdu Food Tour

Really cool guide who knows Chengdu and we managed to discuss the similarities and differences between cultures. Really great English. Would do again

Great tour! Haoqi was very knowledgeable and spoke English fluently. He went out of her way to help us. We went to a local market and took part in a tea ceremony. Good a great insight into local life. Thank you !

This tour was exactly what we wanted. We visited a temple and learned a lot about the history and religion. Walking through the food market was really good as we were able to ask questions about some of the food we were unsure of and try some new things. Nice little surprise at the end too. Guide was also happy to ask questions we had about China in general.

Haoqi did a great job and we tried some new things, she even helped me get acupuncture. The market was really fun and the information was interesting.

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour, and Chang was an amazing guide - I loved learning about the different street and market food specialities of Chengdu and Sichuan and having the opportunity to try some as well (so tasty!) - this tour is the perfect combo of exciting market and street food culture followed by the history and peaceful vibe of walking through the Taoist temple. Highly recommend 💯

Haoqi was extremely knowledgeable about the local foods. She pointed a million different things that were new to me. As I am new to China she helped me also understand the Chinese apps and how to use them. She also gave me some interesting tips to do with my evening entertainment and helped me book a ticket for Chinese theatre which I thoroughly enjoyed. I can highly recommend Haoqi as a highly professional guide. Thank you Haoqi.

I really enjoyed the tour, Haoqi was very accommodating andnadapted the market tour to show me vegan options. The tea ceremony and calligraphy session were the highlight!

The contact with Haoqi was very agreeable, open, relax. Discovering the food market was realy delightful. I would recommend a small group (we were 3 + Haoqi). We talked not only about food, but about many other things in daily life of Chinese.

I had such a lovely time with Haoqi visiting the foodie market. We sampled a few bits while she explained more about Chengdu cuisine and she helped us pick out some bits for breakfast that we enjoyed together. The tea and calligraphy session was fantastic - the lady was super friendly and it was so calming and relaxing. A lovely morning spent with locals!

Very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Very interesting to see the local markets with a Chinese guide. Lovely tea ceremony and calligraphy experience.

A little less sampling then we expected but learned lots of interesting things and also just enjoyed chatting with our guide over a game of cards that she thought us! The tea + calligraphy was super fun.

I spent an enjoyable morning with my guide Chang! We've visited the market and had a tea ceremony together, I had a chance to pratice Chinese calligraphy. Chang was very friendly and answered my many questions 😊 I definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in Chinese culture!

The toor was very fun! Haoqi was very pleasant and knowledgeable about everything that we asked her. We got to know local treats and have a very nice teahouse session combined with our first calligraphy try!

A fantastic, informative and entertaining afternoon with Fiona! A brilliant walk around the food market, we got to buy and try lots of local delicious food! We followed this with the tea and calligraphy session which was throughly enjoyable. Fiona was a perfect guide who was extremely knowledgeable and spent time answering all of our questions! I would highly recommend!

Haoqi has been very helpful, kind and knowledgeable about the food in Chengdu. She also took us to have a Chinese tea tasting and calligraphy sessions; this was very much enjoyable and fun. The Chinese tea tasting session was very interesting, followed by calligraphy session with explanation on Chinese character strokes and brush holding; then we got to write a Chinese phrase ourselves.

Went to hidden market only locals know and had various interesting food along the way!

Haoqi's tour was a great introduction into the richness of Chengdu (and tea). I did both of her tours and learnt a lot. She also gave great personalised tips and directed me to lovely handmade souvenirs I couldn't find elsewhere!

Fiona was the perfect companion for our first day in China! She is very knowledgeable aboutkk the city, food & Chinese culture, among many topics. She has a teaching & translator background and speaks perfect English. In between the very informative tour she the took time to help us e.g. make chinese apps work on our phone, explain and learn some basic chinese phrases. We even went for lunch and tea together after the tour was finished and could have talked on for hours. She gave us tons of useful tips and was genuinely interested. Totally recommend her, especially if you want maximum input, are talkative and have lots of questions :) always again, best regards!
