- 2 hours and 15 minutes
- English, Spanish and Italian
Description
Valletta is an exceptional city.
Not only for being the only European capital declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, nor for having been built by knights of a military Order or for having been the most modern European city. It is so because of its beauty, its secrets and its history. The first you can discover on your own, but we are eager to share its history.
What do Malta and Spain have in common?
Who was the Order of Saint John? And the Order of Malta?
How could such a small island withstand the attack of two of the most powerful empires of all time?
Where can I see the paintings of Caravaggio?
What food is traditional in Malta?
Where can I enjoy a nice cold beer?
We want to tell you all this and much more so that you can discover Valletta on all levels, and that's why in our tour we will walk through the main streets and squares, focusing on its most interesting buildings and explaining the history and evolution of this city described as "an open-air museum", in an easy walk for all audiences. But we will not stop talking about our gastronomy, the movies that have been filmed in Malta, our traditions and peculiarities, our present and the best places in the city and its surroundings, and how to visit them, in addition to answering all the questions you may have about these or other topics in this Valletta tour that will last around 2 hours. And at the end of the tour, we will be happy to help you continue discovering the city and the country ;)
A minimum of 8 travelers is required for the tour to take place. We do not accept unaccompanied minors.
No support material will be used and some stops may be longer to develop the cultural aspect of the city.
If you are a group of more than 5 people, contact us before booking. Groups are asked for a deposit of €15 per person, which allows us to maintain appropriately sized groups and pay for the guide's services.
This is not a classic free tour, but you will enjoy the visit with our guides, official guides with proper training, professionals who have made guiding their life, their passion, and their profession.
That's why we ask for €15 to €20 per person to maintain all tours with the highest quality and sustainability. If this makes you hesitate, take a look at the reviews!
For those looking for a less informative and less traditional tour, we recommend our free tour: "Unknown Valletta: corners and side streets".
And with our free tour "Mdina and Rabat, the most traditional Malta" you can complete the information about the islands in addition to discovering another aspect of our country by visiting one of our most traditional villages in the only free tour with a Maltese village. If you liked the historical tour of Valletta, with this tour you can discover more deeply who we Maltese are, what has shaped our character, our cuisine...
And if you are looking for something more "exotic", more tailored to you, or if you simply want to consider more options, don't miss our paid tours on our website that include everything from classic visits like the megalithic temples of Malta (unique in the world) to other unique ones, like ghost tours or cemetery visits (not both at the same time... we hope)
