At Guiarte Jerez we are official tourist guides with a history of more than 15 years working in the sector, we feel passion for our city and through our routes we intend to transmit its own values, its flamenco sounds and its wine aromas. We are moved by our desire to ensure that Jerez is appreciated and valued for its monumental wealth, for its history and for those unknown charming corners that tell us about an interesting past.
Discover with us the city from its Islamic origins in the 8th century to becoming an internationally famous winery city!
Art, culture and tradition are combined through the streets of Jerez with aromas of wine and orange blossom. We will begin our tour in the Plaza del Arenal , the scene of duels and battles, games and equestrian shows, to head towards the oldest monument in the city, the Alcázar , a fortress from the Almohad period, where we will narrate its history and legends. We will stop to see the weather vane of Bodegas Tío Pepe (possibly the largest in the world) and the monument to the founder of the Bodega .
We will continue our itinerary through another of the most representative historical buildings of the city, the Cathedral , built next to the space that was occupied by the main mosque. Do you know how its construction was completed? We will continue our walk through the Plaza del Arroyo to contemplate beautiful winery palaces. We will arrive at the Old Cabildo , of Renaissance style, the Mudejar Church of the Patron , the Tower of the Watchtower , we will pass through charming squares , of which we will tell you about their origin and curiosities, some of great importance in medieval times and others surrounded by orange trees and palaces of winery families with interesting stories. We will walk along Calle Larga , the main street of the city where you can see remains of the Almohad wall inside some of the premises. We will tell you anecdotes and the origin of unique and curious buildings related to the wine industry, such as the emblematic building of Gallo Azul or Los Tabancos.
