Passionate about history, literature, architecture and gastronomy. Traveling has always been the best way to learn about my passions. Paris has always had a special place in my heart. For me it is a great pleasure to be able to show the hidden faces of this wonderful city. Get out of the clichés and tell those little anecdotes that turn a simple walk into a playful and evocative walk. In some ways, I have my own version of the city. Built with many kilometers on foot, many authors who lived it to the fullest, in my own way of seeing it and living it. Sharing this city with you is one of my most cherished dreams come true.
The Galleries or Covered Passages of Paris are part of the secrets and wonderful surprises that this incredible city offers us.
Predating the work of Baron Haussman, the Covered Galleries are a small sample of what Paris was like at the end of the 18th century and first half of the 19th century. A city with an essentially medieval structure entering modernity.
The character of the Parisian is created and deepened in this stage. The Covered Galleries contribute a lot to shaping the lifestyle of this city, which was already proving itself to be the most innovative in the Western world. Taking a look at this vital part of the city helps us understand the soul of the Parisian, his constant need to wander aimlessly, to people watch, sit in cafes and experience the city as an unparalleled experience.
In this fun walk, full of anecdotes and curiosities, we will visit 5 of the galleries that survived the city's reforms, in the second decade of the 19th century, when Baron Haussman drastically reduced the number of Galleries or Passages covered with the massive demolitions. Of 240 covered Galleries and Passages, only 14 survived.
This exhibition will allow us to discover a side of the city with a touch of nostalgia and a unique charm.
