Unique Free Tour with local Bavarian guide from Munich
My name is Korbi, I am 30 years old and a native of Munich. I have spent most of my life in Munich and have observed many local events and funny situations. Furthermore, I have worked as a tour guide and in education for sustainable development in Munich for many years. Apart from Munich, I also spent a year studying abroad in Córdoba in 2016 and completed a Master's degree at the University of Cádiz between 2021 and 2023. As I have only taken guided tours in English and German and am passionate about the Hispanic language and culture, Now I would be happy to offer guided tours in Spanish in my hometown, Munich, to tell guests the history of the city and its innovative developments in an exciting way.
Tour description
I sincerely invite you to a very special walk through the historic center of Munich , with a final detour to the green heart of the city, in the English Garden.
In addition to important historical buildings and their interesting backstories, sometimes funny and sometimes serious, you will also learn unique anecdotes about life in the city from the local Bavarian guide who grew up in Munich and accompanies the tour.
You'll also receive plenty of local tips and information about the world's largest beer festival, Oktoberfest , and other Bavarian traditions, as well as the region's spectacular excursion destinations.
During the tour you will visit the following stops:
Meeting point/start of the tour at Marienplatz (subway and S-Bahn station), in front of the new Gothic town hall in " Wurmeck " (with a view of the town hall, on the far left at the beginning of the "Weinstrasse", i.e. the west corner).
If you see a dragon in the corner of the town hall, you'll know you're in the right place :)
How to recognize the tour guide?
A blonde guide in Bavarian costume awaits you with a blue and white checkered sign that says "Free Local Bavarian Tour in Spanish."
After the introduction to the history of the city's founding on Marienplatz and the contemplation of the Glockenspiel / carillon in the town hall, we pass the famous Hofbräuhaus / royal brewery and head towards the National Theater and the royal residence.
Next, we stop at the Odeon Square ( Odeonsplatz ), where we will see the most beautiful church in Munich and also learn more about the founding of the Munich Fair, the Oktoberfest, and Bavarian costume.
On the other side, a dark story about National Socialism is also discussed in Munich, in front of the " Feldherrnhalle ". From here, the tour continues towards the green part of Munich , passing by the Hofgarten /Residence Garden to the city's surf wave at the Eisbach, at the beginning of the English Garden.
After a short walk through the English Garden, the route ends at the 2nd largest beer garden in Munich, at the Chinese Tower.
There you can finish the tour with a beer and lunch, or you will be described exactly how to return to the historic center or other desired destinations for the day.
Little tip:
Although there is always the possibility of buying food yourself at the beer gardens, in this one, as in most of Munich, you can even bring your own food and you will only have to buy the beer on site.
After many years guiding people around my hometown, Munich, in German and English, I would be happy to accompany Spanish-speaking travelers on this tour to give them a unique and unforgettable time.
On that note, I welcome you and ask you to make a reservation if you want to participate in the tour.
A hug,
Korby
