Guru passionate about art, history and languages. Expert in Ávila, its saints and songs! Born and raised in this World Heritage city, where I trained as an official tourist guide. Currently the adventure continues, as I work as a freelance guide and continue my training in Tourism Management.
This free tour is the perfect option to start getting to know the main monuments and history of the famous walled city of Ávila, declared a World Heritage Site .
You will experience a regression to those bygone times of the Middle Ages, you will know the most emblematic places , the stories that surround them and the secrets of their stones, because you are in the city of saints and songs!
We will meet at Plaza de Santa Teresa (Mercado Grande, meeting point next to Burguer King)
Entering the wall, we will discover the most interesting corners, such as the Plaza de Adolfo Suárez or the Street of Life and Death, full of mystery and legends. We will arrive at the Ávila Cathedral , considered the first Gothic cathedral in Spain . We will admire the beauty of the Basilica of San Vicente and continue to the Plaza Mayor, also known as Plaza del Mercado Chico . Here we will find the Town Hall and, very close, the church of San Juan Bautista, a place linked to our patron Saint Teresa .
We will also walk before some of the most representative palaces such as Superunda or Los Dávila, to end our tour on the pleasant Paseo del Rato, another of the most idyllic places in the city next to its garden-viewpoint we can enjoy the impressive views, which are the delight of the fortified city and all its visitors.
You won't stop taking photos!
Look for the girl with the purple umbrella in front of the San Pedro church, next to the Burger King!
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
