Itinerary:
1. The Gur-e Amir Mausoleum: We will start our tour at the impressive Gur-e-Amir, the magnificent mausoleum of Tamerlane, the legendary conqueror. As we explore this great site, I will share the captivating stories of Tamerlane's reign and the significance of this resting place, which still resonates with the power and grandeur of his empire.
2. Registan Square: Then we will walk to the famous Registan Square, the heart of Samarkand and a masterpiece of Islamic architecture. Here you will be amazed by three impressive madrasas with their intricate mosaics and towering minarets. I will introduce you to the history of this central square, where scientists and merchants once gathered, making it a lively center of culture and knowledge.
3. The Bibi Khanum Mosque: A few steps away, we will visit the Bibi-Khanym Mosque, the site that was once the jewel of Samarkand and one of the largest mosques in the Islamic world. 4.Siab Market (Siyob Bazaar):
Afterwards, we will visit the Siab Market, the largest and oldest in Samarkand.
It is a place full of life, colors, aromas, and flavors, where locals buy fruits, bread, spices, and traditional sweets.
The bazaar has existed since the times of the Silk Road and is ideal for discovering the culture and daily life of the Uzbeks.
Visitors will be able to taste the famous traditional bread of Samarkand and observe the authentic local hospitality.
5. Shah-i-Zinda (last stop of the tour):
Our last stop will be the necropolis of Shah-i-Zinda, one of the most sacred and beautiful places in Samarkand.
We will go to the entrance, and from outside I will explain the history and architecture of this set of mausoleums.
I will tell you about its origin, the legend of Qusam ibn Abbas, and the artistic details from the time of Tamerlane.
I will not enter with you into the necropolis; you will be able to visit it freely, enjoy the place, and take photographs.
The tour will end there, at Shah-i-Zinda.
