Why choose this tour?
Forget the classic itineraries that are limited to the historic center. Here you will discover medieval, royal, Jewish Krakow and the one marked by the Second World War, in a single route.
It is the only tour in Italian that, in addition to the historic center and the Jewish quarter of Kazimierz, also includes the Krakow Ghetto, with the Ghetto Heroes Square, the famous commemorative chairs installation, and the Eagle Pharmacy, one of the most significant places of Holocaust memory.
With just one visit, you will discover places that many can only see by booking two or three different excursions, optimizing your time without missing anything.
What we will visit:
- We will start from the Grunwald Monument, dedicated to the historic battle of 1410.
- We will continue towards the Barbican and the ancient defensive walls of the 15th century, passing in front of the Czartoryski Museum, guardian of the famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci, Lady with an Ermine.
- We will then enter the spectacular Market Square (Rynek Główny), the beating heart of the city, where we will admire St. Mary's Basilica and the Cloth Hall (Sukiennice).
- We will walk in the Planty Park to Franciscan Street, where the famous Archbishop's Palace is located, the historic residence of Karol Wojtyła before his election as Pope John Paul II. We will stop in front of the famous Papal Window, from which the Pontiff used to appear to greet and converse with the faithful during his visits to Krakow.
- We will then reach the majestic Wawel Royal Castle and Cathedral, symbols of Polish monarchy and national history.
- We will delve into the historic Jewish quarter of Kazimierz, visiting the Old Synagogue, Plac Nowy, and the Remuh Cemetery, retracing centuries of Jewish history and culture.
- The last part of the tour will be dedicated to the most touching places of memory. We will cross the Krakow Ghetto, visit the Ghetto Heroes Square with its iconic commemorative chairs, and reach the Eagle Pharmacy, a symbol of courage and solidarity during the Nazi occupation.
