Tour description

Cebu is a city full of stories, legends, and rich history, and the best way to experience all of this is by walking its streets! Our Free Walking Tour isn't just about seeing sights—it's about immersing yourself in the culture, history, and soul of the city. With a local guide leading the way, you'll uncover Cebu’s secrets, hear fascinating stories, and explore the landmarks that make it so special. Here's what you’ll experience on our tour:

1. Magellan's Cross

Why visit?
One of Cebu’s most iconic landmarks, this historical site marks the spot where Ferdinand Magellan planted the cross in 1521, symbolizing the arrival of Christianity to the Philippines. It’s not just about the cross, but the centuries of history that have shaped Cebu into the vibrant city it is today.

2. Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño

Why visit?
Step inside one of the oldest churches in the Philippines! This stunning basilica houses the revered image of the Santo Niño (Holy Child), the oldest Christian relic in the country. The blend of Spanish colonial architecture and deep religious significance makes it a must-see for any visitor.

3. Plaza Independencia

Why visit?
Plaza Independencia is a peaceful green space that holds deep historical significance as the site of many important events in the country's struggle for independence. Take a moment to relax, enjoy the park, and reflect on its place in Cebu’s past.

4. Fort San Pedro

Why visit?
This small but mighty fort built by the Spanish in the 16th century offers a glimpse into the military history of Cebu. Walk along the well-preserved walls, explore its museum, and take in views of the harbor and surrounding area, which were once key to Cebu’s defense.

5. National Museum of Cebu

Why visit?
Step back in time and learn about the rich cultural heritage of Cebu and the Visayas. The museum houses artifacts, art, and exhibitions that trace Cebu’s history, from pre-colonial times to the modern day, offering a deeper understanding of the region’s past.

6. Cebu Local Souvenir Shop

Why visit?
Take home a piece of Cebu with you! From handwoven fabrics to local crafts and delicacies, our stop at a local souvenir shop lets you shop for unique, authentic products that are perfect as gifts or keepsakes. Support local artisans while picking up something special to remember your trip.

7. Compania de Maritima

Why visit?
A beautiful example of Spanish colonial architecture, this building once served as a major trade hub in Cebu. It’s now a part of the city’s historical narrative, and its beautifully restored structure adds to the charm of the area. Perfect for a quick photo stop!

8. Puso Village

Why visit?
Puso (rice wrapped in palm leaves) is a beloved Cebuano snack, and Puso Village is the place to experience this local delicacy in its most authentic form. You’ll get to learn about this traditional food, taste it fresh, and perhaps even try making some yourself!
