Under the Wall Lights: A Local's Xi'an Nightlife Immersion
Tour description
Discover Xi’an Like a Local: A Night Full of Food, Music, and Drinks
Ever wondered what locals do in Xi’an after the sun goes down? This tour isn’t about Muslim Quarter or museums — it’s about real local life, real local food, and real fun. Join me and dive into the lively night spirit of Xi’an!
We’ll start with dinner the local way — at an open-air street BBQ spot. Sitting on plastic stools, surrounded by smoky grills and the sound of clinking beer bottles, you’ll taste Xi’an’s famous skewers, local specialties. Or, we might explore one of Xi’an’s colorful night markets instead, filled with street snacks and regional treats — a bit like a Chinese version of a European Christmas market!
After dinner, we’ll head to the city wall area, where free outdoor live concerts take place. On some evenings, local bands perform here, and the whole crowd sings along. You don’t need to know the lyrics — the vibe is infectious, and you’ll be clapping, singing, and smiling in no time.
To end the night, we’ll visit a cozy bar hidden in the city’s backstreets. Whether you’re into craft beer or cocktails with a Chinese twist, I’ll take you somewhere full of style, flavor, and character.
This tour is perfect for solo travelers, couples, or friends who want to experience the real Xi’an — not just as tourists, but as part of the crowd. Come hungry, come curious, and let’s enjoy the night together like locals do.
--Things to note:
1. Food & Drinks Cost:
BBQ at the night market and drinks at bars are self-funded – pay as you consume!
2. Dietary Notes:
Spice levels vary; ask your guide for mild options.
Vegan/vegetarian? Please inform us in advance (limited options).
The tour will last about 3 hours, and we will experience Xi’an’s real nightlife — from local street food to drinks. It’s a free tour, but if you really enjoyed the evening, tips are always welcome and deeply appreciated :)
To make it easier for you to decide on a tip, here are some suggestions:
If you didn’t enjoy it, feel free to give nothing — no pressure at all.
If you had a good time, a tip around ¥150–¥300 per person would be wonderful and very encouraging for me to keep sharing these local experiences.
Thank you so much, and I look forward to spending a fun night out in Xi’an with you!
