Bill is an excellent guide. I loved his relaxed style. The whole walk was unrushed. Bill gave lots of interesting information and was very receptive to questions. Really great tour. Much recommended.

Amanda is a great guide who comes well prepared, with lots of little stories and printed old photos of the places you see during the tour. She also adapts the tour to the group size and to your interests, which makes the experience feel much more personal. I had a great time and really enjoyed the tour. I wish her lots of success in the future!

We joined Bill’s GuruWalk through the French Concession and loved it. His English was excellent, he was witty, and he shared great anecdotes that made everything engaging. He brought the neighborhood’s history to life with stories and small details we would have totally missed on our own. It’s a must-try in Shanghai—do it as soon as you arrive. Everything was great. If we stayed one more day in Shanghai, we’d definitely book another one of his walks, like the food tour. You were great, Bill!!!

Such an amazing tour with our guide summer We explored jinagan neighborhood like true locals, learning about tradition, lifestyle, food culture and overall vibe . Summer was very welcoming and we got to hear her story in Shanghai and china. We felt very open with her as she was a long time friend. We loved how she gave as a lot of recommendations for our stay and helped us plan the itinerary for the next few days.

Der Walk war sehr interessant. Überraschend waren die vielen Kolonialbauten. Amanda hat uns spannende Hintergrundinformationen gegeben. Und die besten Fotostops gezeigt. Die Tour ist sehr zu empfehlen.

It was my last day out of a three week-long trip in China, and what a lovely way to wrap up my trip. I was the only person on this tour, and rather than cancelling (which would have been understandable), Summer showed up, and full of enthusiasm. Right of the bat, she came across has a very friendly, curious person, which made for a very engaging and easy-going tour. The coffee was the best I’ve had in months, and one snack in particular - the meat moon cakes - were easily top three of my favourite foods in China (at the end of the tour, I went back and got myself a box to take home). I also particularly enjoyed visiting a state-owned local community center, because it gave me a bigger insight into daily life in Shanghai. Getting to know Summer and diving deep into matters of Chinese faith and culture was perhaps the biggest treat of them all. 测测, obrigada, Summer-san!

I love Jie’s enthusiasm and passion, it really comes through. She has been doing this for about 2 years and is well versed with the route and sharing on various topics in China. Hope she can continue on her journey and share her view of Shanghai

Bill was an amazing guide to the Shanghai food scene. He gave us an insiders view of the local cuisine with some very interesting facts about the city inbetween stops. Great sense of humor, even better sense for good food. You will not regret joining his tour!
