We had an absolutely fantastic experience on this free walking tour in Shanghai. Our guide Jie was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. She was not only very well prepared and professional, but also genuinely interested in making sure everyone understood the history, culture, and stories behind the places we visited. She answered every single question with patience and clarity, and consistently went above and beyond our expectations. Her enthusiasm and intelligence made the entire tour engaging, fun, and extremely informative. Thanks to her, we were able to appreciate Shanghai in a much deeper and more meaningful way. I really enjoyed it! Our guide Celina knows all about Shanghai as a local and so nice and helpful. She showed us areas we can go at night, introduced a whole list of food recommendation. My family is coming afterwards and i would recommend to everyone this amazing tour when they are in shanghai!

Such a wonderful experience! What can i say, four hours but not even feeling tired at all! The tour is so well designed, it covers history, economy, i see technology, interesting spots, even tried local food half way. This is one of the best tour ever! Best tour ever! I have done a lot of free tour but Celina definitely did a great job! Her tour is super informative, covering from history, geographic, showing us lifestyle of the locals, giving us ideas of economy and technology of China, and even took us to a local street to try some local snacks! This is for sure an all in one kind of tour, best way to kick start the city for my visit here. I would highly recommended this tour!

Such a great tour! I have to say among all the tours I did everywhere in the world, Celina is one of the best guides I met. She shared more than history, it is an all around information she is offering to the travellers here. If you are interested in the business or technology of China she can also give you some deep insights. Also this French Concession area is very good to explore the local lifestyle, we actually see shanghai uncles and aunties dancing and doing exercise, and some of them hanging clothes in the alley. I like this kind of authentic experience for my tour. I highly recommend this tour in Shanghai!

I had an amazing walking tour with Bill in Shanghai and can’t recommend him enough. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole experience really enjoyable. We got to see and learn so much about the city in a way that felt personal and relaxed. At the end of the tour I sent him some extra money to thank him, but he actually returned the excess I had accidentally sent. That was such a kind and honest gesture, and it really speaks to his character. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I’m really grateful I got to explore Shanghai with him. A tour with Jie is quality time with a much added value in information and experience to get to know the old Shanghai. Jie was very knowledgeable, very nice and fun to be with. Walking through the streets while hearing these stories from such a knowledgeable guide makes the whole city come alive. Aubrey is an outstanding guide. Her knowledge is incredible, and she explained everything in such a clear, engaging, and detailed way at every site we visited. Beyond the tour itself, she was incredibly kind and generous with her time and patiently answered all of our additional questions and gave us many great recommendations for places and food to try in the city. You could really feel the passion, care, and love she puts into what she does. There’s no doubt that if you’re looking for the best way to enjoy Shanghai and truly understand the city, this tour is the place!

Absolutely the best free tour I've ever taken — literally mind-blowing! Our guide, Dinna, was incredibly energetic, knowledgeable, passionate, and fun. She didn’t just show us the must-see spots in downtown — her storytelling and genuine insights into local life were unbeatable. We also had some meaningful discussions about social topics that have shaped modern China, which truly resonated with me and added so much depth to the experience. The four hours flew by, we also stopped for a lovely snack break with delicious local street food. Honestly, don’t hesitate — you’ll miss out on so much if you don’t book this tour!

Travelling alone it can be hard to try different foods in China, as all the portions are huge. This tour made it possible to share many different dishes with explanation on how to eat and much more. Things I would never order from a menu that tasted amazing (and not that amazing). Don't know if I will ever succeed in eating soup dumplings without making a mess but at least I now know better how it should be done.

Bill is excellent!!! I highly recommend him!!! He knows everything about the city, the history, culture, politics and economy of Chinese society!!

We ate original Shanghai dumplings recommended by Bill. With his tips, is a better experience. We walk the city at night looking for a pleasent meal and ended with a nice surprise!

The circle around French Consecion and learn a little about Shanghai history with Bill's insides. Shanghai is more enjoyable knowing that someone is there to tell you histories. Great experience
