Greetings everyone, my name is Sharaf Soliman, and I've been a Spanish-speaking tour guide in Egypt since 2012. My university degree is in Archaeology, Antiquities, and Egyptology. With this background, I began my professional career as a tour guide in 2012. It will be my pleasure to help you discover Egypt in a different, deeper, and more authentic way, enjoying its history and exploring new places.

Tour description

Cairo is undoubtedly one of the most vibrant cities in the East, a place where every street breathes history and tradition. Today I invite you to explore one of its most iconic avenues, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979, along with the entire ensemble of Islamic Cairo: the famous Al Moez Street.

Walking down Al Moez is like traveling back in time. There you will find the highest concentration of Islamic monuments in the city: more than 22 madrasas (ancient schools), majestic mosques, and traditional public baths known as hammams. Our journey begins at Bab al-Futuh, one of the imposing gates that once formed part of the capital's walls. From this point, we embark on a special walk that, step by step, reveals the grandeur of Cairo's architecture and the hidden stories in every stone.

For two and a half hours, we delve into its lively alleys, amidst aromas, sounds, and colors, until we reach the heart of traditional Egyptian commerce: the famous Khan el-Khalili market. Founded in 1384 AD, this bazaar with more than six centuries of history houses hundreds of shops offering everything from crafts and jewelry to spices and unique souvenirs.

Here, amidst the hustle and bustle of vendors and the eternal charm of its passageways, we conclude our walk, taking with us the unforgettable essence of Islamic Cairo.
