Tour description

The main objective we pursue with this Silk Road tour of the city of Valencia is to showcase a heritage that has been built over the centuries and is made up of tangible and intangible assets. In this case, and as we will see, two Intangible Heritage Sites of Humanity come together: the Silk Road and the Fallas, which, thanks to them, have defined a unique and defining costume of the Valencian territory.

We'll visit the Silk Exchange, with its beautiful columnar hall, the epicenter of the medieval silk trade in Valencia. Merchants offered their wares here. We'll then head to the Silk Museum, where we'll learn about the history of this rich heritage firsthand, as well as see the looms that weave silk firsthand. A visit to a costume designer will give us a current perspective on silk production in Valencia, focusing on the Fallas festival. The Cathedral Museum showcases the city's rich silk heritage. Finally, we'll visit the San Pio V Museum, where medieval altarpieces showcase this wealth.
