Hello! My name is Martin, and I am looking forward to taking you on a tour of my city. I am a native speaker of English with local Wrocław knowledge. As on March 13th, 2026, I am an licenced tour guide in Wrocław. After completing my bachelor's degree at Wroclaw University, I decided to start my professional career as a tour guide. I was raised in the United States, but my parents are Polish-Lithuanian. I speak English, Polish, Spanish, French and Italian. I fell in love with Wroclaw and subsequently learned all there is to know about it. My interests are art, history and architecture, and there is nothing more that I love doing than sharing with others my interest. I am almost certain that after we walk together you will see Wroclaw, and maybe the world, a little differently. I run two tours; the traditional Old Town route, but also my designer route, known as the German Promenade. Tourists coming to Wroclaw end up skipping our only UNESCO site! I am here to change this. Both tours pair nicely together, and allow visitors to truly grasp what Wroclaw is about and what is has to offer. I hope to see you on my tour!

Tour description

Welcome to Wroclaw! I am looking forward to meeting you, and taking you on a tour through my beautiful city.

Believe it or not, but Wroclaw was for a long time a super important city. First for trade, then for industry, it has been fought over for centuries. There are at least 5 different nations and cultures that left their mark on the city, and if you book my tour, we will find them all!

We meet on the Salt Square, where steps away we will find the palatial home of Wroclaw's richest patrician. Then, we will enter the main Wroclaw market square, where we can get to know some of the city's icons, as well as some context about Wroclaw. Afterwards, marvel at the Gebrudder Brother's "Cathedral of Commerce", and learn the story behind the Mary Magdalene church's 12th century Olbin portal. We pass through the various stalls of the market square, before entering the cemetary of St. Elizabeth through the "Hansel and Gretel" gate. Then, the butcher shop, prison, and university. Visit the Mausoleum of the founding royal family and witness the ingenuity of the German covered market hall.

We end our walk in the Vatican City of Wroclaw, the Cathedral Island.

This tour was designed by me, to complement my other tour, the German Promenade, which highlights the 1741-1945 German period and takes you away from the Old Town. That route is crowned by the UNESCO 1913 German National Exhibition Grounds, the only such designation in Wroclaw. Both tours together define the city's identity and unify all the various periods of Wroclaw's history.

I hope to meet you on my tour!
