Hello, my name is Martin, and welcome to my Guruwalk page! After completing my bachelor's degree at Wroclaw University, I decided to move here to start my professional career as a tour guide. I was raised in the United States, but my parents are Polish-Lithuanian. I speak English, Polish, Spanish, and French. I fell in love with Wroclaw and am proud to say that I taught myself all there is to know about this city. My interests are art, history, and teaching, and giving tours is something I love doing. I am almost certain that after we walk together, you will see Wroclaw, and the world a little different.
My tour, the German Promenade, was tailored by me to show you in a quick two hours the highlights of Wroclaw outside of the city center. I found that Wroclaw has a problem, in which tourists miss out on some of the city's most important monuments by staying too strictly in the historic center. I aim to change that!
Taking a tour with Martin felt like visiting a friend in his town, and he’s excited to show you his favorite spots in town. I initially wanted to explore both the old towns and the UNESCO site, so his tour is a great option to do both on a tight time. I was planning to see the lamplighter in the late afternoon anyways so skipping a walking tour on the cathedral island wasn’t too bad.
