Step beyond the usual sights and discover the living heritage of Chiang Mai through its streets, communities, and markets.
This walking tour begins along the Ping River, where early communities shaped by trade, migration, and diverse beliefs laid the foundation of the city. You’ll explore how Christian, Buddhist, and Chinese influences coexist and continue to shape everyday life.
We start near Chiang Mai Christian School and visit the First Church of Chiang Mai, then continue to Wat Ket Karam, a peaceful temple reflecting Lanna traditions.
Crossing the river, we follow the path of traders into Chiang Mai’s historic commercial district. Along the way, we explore local markets, visit a Chinese shrine, and experience the vibrant atmosphere of the flower market and Warorot Market—long-standing centers of local life.
If time allows, we’ll stop at a traditional local coffee shop for a taste of old Chiang Mai.
This tour is not just about places, but about how markets, beliefs, and communities shape the rhythm of life in Chiang Mai—past and present.
