Stories, Sights & Secrets - from Croix Rousse to the City Centre with a native English-speaking guide
The tour lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes

Description
This free walking tour explores the vibrant Pentes de la Croix-Rousse — the historic slopes rising just behind Lyon’s City Hall and home to one of the city’s most fascinating and characterful neighbourhoods.
This is where the silk workers — the famous canuts — lived and fought for their rights. Where underground Resistance networks operated during the Second World War. Where ancient Roman Lugdunum once dominated Gaul.
As we walk along, I’ll also take advantage of the panoramic viewpoints overlooking Lyon (on a clear day, we might see Mont Blanc!) to help you understand the city as a whole: how its rivers, hills, and neighbourhoods fit together, and how its history shaped its unique identity.
Today, the Pentes are also one of Lyon’s most creative districts; full of street art, independent shops, cafés and cultural energy. Beyond the history, I’ll share insider tips and personal recommendations to help you experience Lyon like a local: where to eat, drink, explore and soak up the atmosphere after the tour.
