Welcome to the free city tour of Brno!
My name is Gautier, I am a French student at Masaryk University and I have been living in Brno for 3 years. I fell in love with this city during an Erasmus exchange and I decided to stay here!
Passionate about the rich cultural and historical background of Brno, I am excited to shared with you the most important part of its history, but also the craziest legends and hidden gems of the Moravian Capital.
In around two hours, we will visit the key points of the city center, from Moravian Square and its funny statues, to the impressive gothic Cathedral of Saint Peter and Paul, on top of Petrov, without forgetting Freedom square and its curious astronomical clock!
You will learn about Brno's history in the prism of the 1645 Swedish siege, World War 2 or more contemporary events!
We will take the following path:
- Moravian Square (Moravské náměstí): Plato's 4 virtues and German influence.
- Saint James Church (Jakubské náměstí): Nehaňba and Ossuary.
- Freedom Square (Náměstí Svobody): Astronomical Clock and Swedish Siege.
- Old Town Hall (Stará Radnice): Dragon and withering Pinnacle.
- Vegetables Market (Zelný trh): Parnas Fountain, Mozart, and Maze.
- Cathedral of Saint Peter and Saint Paul (Petrov): The main monument of Brno.
