Located next to the old Turia riverbed, the Benlliure House-Museum is an extraordinary example of a Valencian bourgeois home from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Inside, the artistic and family world of the Benlliure family, one of the most celebrated and prolific dynasties in the Valencian and Spanish art scene, is preserved intact.
During this visit we will tour the different spaces of the house while discovering who Josep Benlliure was, how this distinguished family of artists lived and why this residence has become one of the most unique and evocative museums in the city.
We will visit the wonderful gardens, the painting studio, the museum rooms dedicated to the Benlliure family, the original rooms of the house and the temporary exhibitions on the upper floor.
We will delve into the historical, artistic and social context of the time, analyzing works, everyday objects, furniture, decoration and family anecdotes that allow us to understand the artistic and bourgeois society of more than a century ago.
