A stroll through the city's historic center to discover the stories of women who were unjustly accused of witchcraft and sorcery, stories that for centuries remained buried among the cobblestones of what was known as Habsburg Madrid.
We will walk the streets where some of them lived, learn about the torture they endured, and visit the places where they were tried and executed by the Inquisition. Because behind every accusation was a real woman, with a life, a name, and a story that deserves to be told.
This journey will take us into their mysterious and dramatic lives, the social context that condemned them, and the international framework of the witch hunt, that violent organized process that extended especially between the 15th and 18th centuries, and which marked a turning point in the history of women.
