Description
Stroll through the historic center of the city to uncover the stories of women who were unjustly accused of witchcraft and sorcery, stories that for centuries remained buried among the cobblestones of the so-called Madrid of the Austrias.
We will walk through the streets where some of them lived, learn about the tortures they suffered, and visit the places where they were tried and executed by the Inquisition. Because behind every accusation was a real woman, with a life, a name, and a story that deserves to be told.
This tour will delve into their mysterious and dramatic lives, the social context that condemned them, and the international framework of the witch hunts, that violent organized process that spread especially between the 15th and 18th centuries, marking a before and after in the history of women.
During the walk, we will have the possibility of being under shelter at almost every stop, to protect ourselves from both rain and sun, if necessary.
