Hallo ihr Lieben! Ich bin Tara und komme aus Magelang, der Nachbarstadt von Yogyakarta, ganz in der Nähe des berühmten Borobudur-Tempels. Daher ähneln sich unsere Kulturen noch sehr. Ich bin hier geboren und aufgewachsen und lebe nun seit fast drei Jahren in Yogyakarta. Ich bin seit anderthalb Jahren Reiseleiterin (und es werden noch mehr) und diese Tourplattform ist mein Nebenjob neben meinem Studium am Institut für Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik. Ich liebe es, Neues zu lernen, das Universum und den Sinn des Lebens zu erforschen, andere Kulturen und Perspektiven kennenzulernen (und auch Verschwörungstheorien zu verfolgen 👀). Neue Leute kennenzulernen ist auch eine meiner Lieblingsbeschäftigungen, um mich mit ihnen auszutauschen und eine Verbindung aufzubauen. Besonders wenn du dich für die javanische Kultur interessierst, würde ich mich sehr freuen, sie mit dir zu teilen. Sag mir einfach, was dich interessiert, und ich gestalte deine Kulturreise so, als würdest du dich mit Freunden treffen, anstatt mit einer typischen, formellen Reiseleitung. Ich freue mich darauf, dich in meiner Stadt Yogyakarta zu sehen.

A great introduction to Jogjakarta history! Having the chance to learn from Tara about the sultan’s place and how the land has changed throughout time to shape what a part of Jogja is nowadays was so interesting! Tara won’t just throw random info but does it in a way that you can connect the dots between the different spots in a fun and interesting way! :) I wasn’t sure about booking a tour, but having this walk made me realize I’d have missed that piece that makes the whole picture clear. Definitely something you shouldn’t skip if you visit Jogja!! Thanks Tara 🙌🏼
We had an amazing tour through the historical highlights of Yogyakarta with Tarra. He guided us through the Kraton (Royal Palace), made a stop at a mosque, showed us the beautiful Water Palace, and showed us a traditional food market. Everything was perfectly organized, and we didn’t have to worry about tickets or logistics at all. Tarra is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also genuinely fun and engaging. As a young local, he knows the city extremely well and has a great way of making sure everyone is having a good time while sharing interesting insights about the places we visited. Overall, this was a 10/10 experience. We didn’t just have a great guide, we feel like we made a new friend. We would absolutely do another tour with Tarra and can highly recommend him without hesitation!
Despite the gloomy weather at the start of the day, we had one of the best town tours thanks to Tara and Guruwalk! Our young guide, Tara, took us to the most characteristic spots in Jogja, sharing interesting anecdotes and historical facts along the way. Very friendly and empathetic, and attentive to our needs, he also took us to try some Javanese specialties mid-morning. He was also very helpful in giving recommendations about local activities, restaurants, and more. We highly recommend the tour with Tara, a very kind and thoughtful person! — he is also an excellent photographer!
The Tour was great! Totally recommend it! Tara is such a cool guy! He responded to all our questions & you learn so much about the city. We were really delighted!
