Hallo, mein Name ist Martin, willkommen in Kambodscha! Ich habe 2003 meine Highschool-Ausbildung abgeschlossen und meine Karriere als Lehrer bei der Remote Area Kids Organization begonnen. Ich habe als Tuk-Tuk-Fahrer gearbeitet und Touristen durch die Tempel im Archäologischen Park Angkor geführt. Nach meinem Abschluss im Jahr 2010 habe ich ein sechsmonatiges Ausbildungsprogramm beim Tourismusministerium absolviert, um professioneller Reiseführer zu werden. Nach Abschluss meiner Ausbildung begann ich als lokaler Reiseführer zu arbeiten und Touristen durch Kambodscha zu führen. 2012 habe ich meine Karriere vorangetrieben, indem ich Gruppenreiseleiter bei Intrepid wurde, einem in Australien ansässigen weltweiten Reiseunternehmen. Ich habe Touren durch Thailand, Laos, Vietnam und Kambodscha geleitet, bis am 23. November 2019 COVID-19 zuschlug. Im Jahr 2022 bin ich mit neuer Leidenschaft in die Tourismusbranche zurückgekehrt. Es ist mir ein großes Anliegen, mein umfangreiches Wissen und meine Liebe zur kambodschanischen Kultur, Geschichte und Traditionen mit Besuchern zu teilen. Martin has extremely in-depth knowledge about the complex history and context of the Cambodian genocide, and explained it in a way that was easy to follow for someone like me with only superficial background knowledge. The sites themselves are of course a chilling experience, and Martin made sure that I knew all of the context of what happened so I can properly understand it. He also gave me some alone time so I can look around and reflect by myself at the Killing Fields and the Tuol Sleng prison. I was actually the only person to book this tour that day, and Martin still organized everything just for me as a private tour and gave me the highest-quality professional experience. I would 100% recommend this to anyone visiting Phnom Penh, and especially if you are limited in time, this tour should be your number 1 priority. The amount of information provided is insane and could never match what you read on signs if you walk around by yourself.

The Phnom Penh Hidden Gems walk was full of fascinating history, art, and glimpses of local life that we never would have discovered on our own.
