My name is Bem Nguyen, founder of Hue Local Tour. The rapid development of industry in Vietnam has radically affected agriculture and the traditional craft villages which have sustained life here for centuries. Hue Local Tour hopes to contribute to the preservation of these long-established lifestyles and cultural values through traditional village experience tours. Hue Local Tour is rooted in the community and thus, after deducting for costs, tour revenue goes to our charity funding , the Hue Foundation. Building on the sustainable tourism activities of Hue Local Tour, in mid-2019 Bem founded the Hue Foundation Charity Fund with the objective of assisting families suffering the consequences of the Vietnamese wars. We wanted to dedicate a portion of the charity’s funds to establish a scholarship fund for academically inclined children of our community who required financial assistance to attend school.
My family had such a great time learning Vietnamese with Bem! We met at a local Cafe that also sells local crafts and clothing made by local artists, which was nice to look through before the class started. Bem taught us words and sayings that were easy to understand, and useful for daily use such as ordering food, requesting the bill etc. She even catered for our 6 year old son and taught him some words. We would 100% recommend this 1 hour class for people of all ages.
