Tour description

Want to learn how graffiti fits into Bogotá’s history and allure?

Join us on this tour not only of Colombia’s history as told by art!

Bogotá has become a world reference in graffiti. It boasts impressive murals and street art that place it above cities like Miami, Amsterdam, Rio, and México City. Its rise as one of the key city-canvases in Latin America has made it an attractive destination for the curious tourist and the bold artist. Would you have guessed?

As with graffiti everywhere else, Bogotá’s history with the art has often been tense. But great art can overcome negative labels. Right now, no one would call it vandalism. It has struggled but has earned its place and the city is better for it. The mixture of social and political commentary with a twist of local and foreign styles make Bogotá’s graffiti truly a sight to behold.

Join us in this tour not only of Colombia’s history as told by art but a tour of Bogotá’s streets as a curated museum of amazing artists!

This tour has a suggestion of USD 10.

A great walking tour! The pace was perfect because of the high altitude in Bogota, wasn’t rushed and our guide gave us a lot of interesting history about the graffiti’s in Bogota and how street art came about, which were fascinating!

We were told to meet in the square and mentioned we were on the graffiti tour. Unfortunately we were put into the wrong tour group so missed the first half of our graffiti tour! By chance we managed to find the group we should have been in and thankfully we still managed to enjoy the second half. We really enjoyed the explanations of the art - something we would have never got from wandering around ourselves / on the internet. The guide was very kind and even went out of her way to show us some of the areas we had missed earlier which was really appreciated!
