I am a lover of the Netherlands, I love to share with people from all over the world, to work outdoors and publicize the culture and hidden sites of this beautiful country. I am Official Licensed Guide for The Netherlands and above all I am a storyteller
Our meeting point will be at De Grote Markt. Next to the Haarlem tourist office. (De more important meeting point from Haarlem). In this free tour you will know the best of Haarlem. We will move to an old beguinary where we will stop to teach you about these unique neighborhoods.
We will walk to one of the last windmills that still remain in Haarlem, The Adriaan Mill, we will also make a stop to explain the operation and why of the mills in this country.
We will continue along the Spaarne River through the Teylers museum and the Waag, one of the oldest buildings in the city. From this point we will continue to the museum house of the most emblematic painter of the city (Frans Hals), where we will also make a stop with an accent in the Flemish painting of the 17th century. Continuing with our walk we will travel some streets until we reach the new church where we will listen about how religion has developed in the Netherlands.
We will pass through the oldest market in Haarlem, (Botermarkt) that is still operational after 400 years. From this point we will go to an old church converted into a brewery. Here we will also stop to talk about how the economy developed in Haarlem and the importance of beer in the city. From this point we will go to the main square, not before without going through the prince's garden and the Corrie Ten Boom museum ... (A story that will surprise you).
Finally we will go back to our meeting point, the main square Grote Markt, the emblematic buildings of the main square will not leave you indifferent, besides being the place where Haarlem originated.
I will be at Grote Markt at the door of the tourist office. I will have a white and blue umbrella with the "Independer Tours" logo. Grote Markt 2, 2011 RD Haarlem
