Hey Guys! That is Emre of Turkey speaking! I have been working as an official tour guide for almost ten years! I love travelling and wherever I go I try to go local and try to see places from the eyes of local people. So I want to help you understand how it feels to be a Turkish person! From all the cities I have been, İstanbul always has been my favorite! I want to share my love for her with you!

About the Tour

This tour is a great alternative if you have already seen Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque part, or looking for a more off-the-beaten-track-free tour!

It covers the main attractions of our city but mainly focuses on the hidden gems that are well and truly "off the beaten track" and gives you facts you wouldn't know or notice walking around by yourself.

We will try to explain to you how it feels to be a Turkish person by telling stories about Turkish weddings, social life, daily routines, foods, and much more

Places to Visit:

  • Soleymaniye Mosque
  • Beyazıt Square
  • Ancient Book Market( Sahaflar Carsısı)
  • Rustem Pasa Mosque
  • Corlulu Ali Pasa Madrasah
  • Spice Market
  • Galata Bridge
  • Eminönü
  • Markets of Tahtakale and Mahmutpasa
  • Ottoman Cementry

During this tour;

We will get to experience sip Turkish tea or coffee and a popular Turkish pastry called “borek” all while enjoying the ancient practice of hookah at a favorite local hangout.  ( 300 years old Madrasah)

We will then make our way to one of Istanbul’s oldest markets- the Old Book Bazaar Sahaflar Çarşısı; located on the site of the Byzantine Empire’s book and paper market and talk about the education system in Turkey

Visit the glorious Suleymaniye Mosque and learn about Turkish telenovelas!

Stroll through the non-touristy markets of Istanbul! Please get ready for your senses to be enticed during our visit to the local spice markets. Upon entering the bazaar area, immediately you feel the electricity in the air. Your senses will be filled with bright colors and powerful aromas of the exotic spices that will surround you.

Find out where is the best kebab in town together!

Visit Rustempasha Mosque

We have personally designed this tour for our guests to really get into the crevices of our great city. Your day will be filled with abundant information, fascinating stories, and experiences that you could not have with any other tour guide company!

Nothing unexpected or wonderful is likely to happen if you have an itinerary in Paris filled with the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower.”  So we believe the same for Istanbul!

Are you ready for a local adventure?

How to find me: I'll be waiting with a yellow umbrella in front of Corlulu Ali Pasha Madrasah, at the entrance

We had a great time with Yunus, who is very friendly, knowledgeable, flexible and speaks fluent English. He took us to some of the hidden gems of Istanbul, introduced us to Turkish culture and customs and gave us so much interesting information. Time flew by!

We just had the most incredible afternoon discovering hidden alleys and places around the old town. If you are looking for something off the beaten path, look no further, Erme is your guy. Wonderful person, extremely polite, with over the top knowledge about not just the city, but also Turkish culture. 2,5 hours passed without we realize, don’t miss this change to get into this vibrant city.
