We are a group of people composed of freelance tour guides who decided to work toghether to support authentic and local Venice, the city we live in and that we truly love. We are not part of a big multinational company but we are all licensed tour guides who support local traditions, local business and culture. Most of all, we proudly encourage sustainable tourism, which is the concept of visiting a city, as a tourist, and trying to have a positive impact on its environment, its society and its economy. We truly believe that this is the most important thing, especially in a city like Venice!

About the tour

The free tour will start from Campo della Carità, in front of the majestic Accademia Galleries and it will make you discover the southern part of Venice: Dorsoduro district.

We will talk about some of the most important steps of the Venetian history: the plague epidemics, the golden age of commerce, the Napoleonic invasion and we will tell you fun facts and legends about some of the most extravagant people who inhabited Venice, like the famous Peggy Guggenheim, the great patron of contemporary art.

There will be some mysterious atmosphere while we walk in front of Ca’ Dario and you will find out why. During the tour you will also have the chance to visit the astonishing Basilica della Salute and we will explain you why this church still occupies a special place in the hearts of Venetians. You will also have the chance to take memorable photos in one of Venice most panoramic spots!

The itinerary will take about two hours and it will end very close to the starting point. During this tour you will discover artistic treasures and popular traditions, wandering around one of the districts that we Venetians love the most!

Thanks to Federico for a lovely tour through the Dorsoduro district and for all the details he puts in his tours. We enjoyed it very much and it was very interesting to learn all this little details about this wonderful city. Federico was very flexible as well regarding the time change - due to heavy rain in the morning we moved the tour to the afternoon. At the end of the tour he took his time to give us more local recommendations and very good tips nog to step into tourist traps. Grazie mille. Nico y Lidia

I had the chance and the joy to have a special tour with the most lovely and the most experienced tour guide, Elena!

She literally knew every details from history to the latest news and even, some anecdotes, only venetians would know!

Really, she made us love even more Venice, and as it was the first time ever here, Elena took us to all the important monuments and places connected to the majors events that happened there, like the Napoleon Era, the plague, austrian period and the meanings of each bridge, all of this, in just 2hours and half!

Elena really is really the best that I could have as a tourist guide, plus I literally booked it one day in advance! I suggest to do both tours, the north and the south of Venice :D

Thank you, again,

A Presto,

Mina
