We are a group of people composed of freelance tour guides who decided to work toghether to support authentic and local Venice, the city we live in and that we truly love. We are not part of a big multinational company but we are all licensed tour guides who support local traditions, local business and culture. Most of all, we proudly encourage sustainable tourism, which is the concept of visiting a city, as a tourist, and trying to have a positive impact on its environment, its society and its economy. We truly believe that this is the most important thing, especially in a city like Venice!

About the Tour

The free tour will start from Campo della Carità, in front of the majestic Accademia Galleries and it will make you discover the southern part of Venice: Dorsoduro district.

We will talk about some of the most important steps of the Venetian history: the plague epidemics, the golden age of commerce, the Napoleonic invasion and we will tell you fun facts and legends about some of the most extravagant people who inhabited Venice, like the famous Peggy Guggenheim, the great patron of contemporary art.

There will be some mysterious atmosphere while we walk in front of Ca’ Dario and you will find out why. During the tour you will also have the chance to visit the astonishing Basilica della Salute and we will explain you why this church still occupies a special place in the hearts of Venetians. You will also have the chance to take memorable photos in one of Venice most panoramic spots!

The itinerary will take about two hours and it will end very close to the starting point. During this tour you will discover artistic treasures and popular traditions, wandering around one of the districts that we Venetians love the most!

Meeting point: Open in Google Maps

How to find me: In front of the entrance of the Accademia Galleries a tour guide will be holding a TOURING DIFFERENT sign, starting 10 minutes before the beginning of the tour.

We had a great tour with the guide Federico, he knew a lot about the city. He gave us both important general background information about the city (history, traditions, important events) and also told a lot of interesting "anecdote" stories that make the tour interesting and fun and will not be found in any guidebook. The tour covered just one area but that was good so the walking between stops did not waste too much time or tire us out. Great tour would highly recommend!

I've had a great experience with Riccardo. He's shown me the hidden gems of Venice and explain the history of the city with a lot of detail. Without a doubt a very special tour for a very special city!

Fantastic tour. Captured the history of Venice very well, and told the story of the ancient city as we walked through it. Also, very committed company as they performed the tour even though I was the only participant. 5 stars!

Anna was great and lots of fun to walk around with, I've learned lots of good tips about Venice, managed to remember some history, because she explained it really well and in a fun way and am glad that I've taken the tour. BTW, Happy Birthday, Anna!
