Hi! I'm Amy, and I would love to show you the city I love most - Berlin. Originally from the UK I moved to Berlin in 2012 after a whirlwind visit - and I've never looked back. I have been showing people the main sights, hidden spots and history of the city for the last 9 years. I have a passion for travel, history, art, food and of course, Berlin.

Tour description

Join me on foot as we explore the Main sights and Highlights of Berlin's historic Mitte district.
Find out how the city has evolved from a small fishing village on the Spree to the sprawling multi-cultural modern capital that it is today.
Berlin has been the seat of the all powerful Prussian Empire, a hotbed of revolution, a magnet for artists during the golden twenties and of course the capital of Hitler's criminal Third Reich. Divided for 28 years during the Cold War, two different cities existed side by side, separated by the Berlin Wall, reunited after the summer of the revolution and the fall of the wall.
On the tour we will visit:

  • Museum Island
  • Berlin's royal boulevard Unter den Linden
  • Bebelplatz
  • The Brandenburg Gate
  • The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe
  • The place of Hitler's Bunker
  • The former Luftwaffe HQ
  • An original piece of the Berlin Wall
  • Checkpoint Charlie

Useful information:

- Meet me on Museum Island, at the steps of the Altes Museum.
-
The tour will finish at Checkpoint Charlie where there is ample opportunity to take photos, pick up a souvenir or a postcard, or to grab a snack. There's also an U-Bahn station 100m away from the end of the tour.
