Hello, I'm Andrei, an award-winning lifestyle and travel photographer with over 10 years of experience, who has spent the past 5 years traveling the world in search of beautiful places, great stories, unique flavors and interesting people to photograph. I love food, history, photography and meeting new people. This is why I pour my heart and soul into what I do and make it a priority to know my city as well as possible, stay up to date with the best places to visit, eat and drink, so that I can share the passion for my city with you. My main priority is always to establish a connection with all of the travelers attending my tours and make them feel as comfortable as possible during tours. I hope I will have the chance to meet you and show you my hometown. Have a lovely day, Andrei

Tour description

During this experience, we will be exploring Bucharest, its history, and some of its most popular street food places.

From small neighborhood cafes and cake shops to some of the oldest and most popular hang-out spots in Bucharest, we will cover all types of awesome places. Along the way, we will enjoy a variety of traditional Romanian snacks, cakes, and beverages
During this experience, we will cover all of the tourist attractions Bucharest has to offer and their history.

As we walk between locations I will make sure to: inform you of the history of the city, point out the most popular bars/cafes/restaurants/hang-out spots, and tell you as many interesting facts about the Romanian lifestyle as possible.

The cost of the food that we will be trying along the way is around 15EUR/72RON (NOT INCLUDED). Please make sure that you have cash in the local currency (RON/Romanian LEU) in order to be able to purchase and try all of the things we will be stopping for along the way

Along the way you will have the chance to try:

  • 2 Romanian Snacks in two different locations
  • 1 coffee/tea/hot chocolate/ mulled wine/cocktail
  • Cake from the oldest cake shop in the city
  • Optional beer and Pălincă stop at the very end of the tour - if the time permits and if the group agrees on having this stop

- Transportation Tickets for the entire duration of the tour - 1 metro ride with a total cost of 3RON (payable by contactless card)

If you are Vegan you need to keep in mind that most Romanian dishes and snacks contain either dairy or meat. Therefore, you will be able to try only a limited amount of traditional snacks along the way.

PS: In case GuruWalk shows you that there are no more places available for a certain tour, you can still attend without booking through the website. Just send me a message so I know you will be joining.
PPS: The duration of the tour varies based on the size of the tour. As this is a food tour, the bigger the group, the longer the drinking and eating stops will take. Therefore please note that the minimum duration of the tour is 2.45, hours.

What fun!! You get to sample food and hear about the history. What a great idea to take the metro and walk the way back. I enjoyed the walk and appreciated the knowledge Andrei had for Bucharest. Would highly recommend.
