We could not leave out one of the most interesting places on the island: The Cathedral of Santa María. This Catalan Gothic style temple was built by order of Alfonso II of Aragon in 1287. It is built on an old mosque, the guides will discover the history of this basilica that has passed through the hands of the French and British throughout history.
The monumental complex of El Born is the center of life in Ciutadella , it is a labyrinth of alleyways and charming arcades that will draw your attention due to its beauty and daily life. In the center of the stately square is the Obelisk des Born , which commemorates the city's defeat in 1558 at the hands of the Turks. Nearby we will visit the Town Hall in the building of an old royal fortress. We will also see the Church of San Francisco, dating from the 18th century, in late Gothic and neoclassical style, and the largest after the Cathedral of Santa María. We will visit the Plaza de la Llibertat where the famous municipal market of Ciutadella is located.
