Tour description

If you're looking to learn about Zagreb's history and development, I'd be happy to take you on a tour of Kaptol and Gradec. These two medieval towns were the birthplace of today's Zagreb, and I'll share stories about how people used to live and what life is like now. You'll also discover hidden gems and must-see places that will make your tour exciting.

As we explore the city's landmarks, you'll gain a deeper understanding of its history and culture. The tour will showcase the town's most famous attractions, fascinating historical facts, intriguing legends, and curiosities, and I'll also suggest things to do and places to go. There's so much to see and discover in Zagreb, and I'm here to make sure your experience is unforgettable.

On our route we will visit:

  • Ban Jelačić Square (The Main Square) - tour start
  • The Cathedral
  • Dolac open Market
  • Opatovina
  • Tkalčićeva Street
  • Bloody Bridge
  • The Stone Gate
  • St. Marks Church
  • Lotrščak Tower*
  • Grič Tunnel ( WWII Tunnel )**
  • Ban Jelačić square - tour end

* The morning tour at 10.00 includes the midday cannon strike.
** Occasionally WW2 underground tunnels might not be included in the tour during public events in the tunnel.

Absolutely fantastic tour. We had a great time and her recommendation were spot on. After the tour we tried a restaurant that she suggested for traditional meal and it was perfect. We have taken many Guruwalks in different parts of Europe, and Mirjana was one of our best. Can not recommend enough.

We were very happy with the tour! Mirjana was incredibly nice, funny, and knowledgeable. She was well-prepared, arriving with an umbrella ready to lend to anyone in need and some informative cards to help us better understand the food and places around Zagreb. The tour is longer than the others that you may find in Zagreb, but time flew by thanks to her engaging storytelling and humorous anecdotes, it was never boring. Mirjana kept us entertained and attentive, ensuring we were always laughing while learning new and interesting things. It was amazing to see her passion for her city, as she intertwined the history of Zagreb with her own personal memories, making the experience even more enriching
