Awesome tour with great guide.

I’ve used Guru many times in far away places. They use local guides who are often well educated and know their stuff. Guru never disappoints. But to all fellow travels - please pay your guide a reasonable tip. Without tips these folk can’t operate. Try booking a commercial tour and see how much it costs you. Please be generous especially in those countries where people struggle to earn a liveable wage.

Liz was outstanding: warm, funny, very knowledgable, great at answering questions, great storytelling. As a historian, I was especially impressed by her extensive understanding of the city’s history, made very accessible to all, including teenagers in the group. She was thoughtful and caring to all.

We did the introductory tour with Hakim. He's very entertaining, has a ridiculously amazing memory and knowledge of so many things. Very inclusive of all guests and a pretty funny guy. There were a few little extras that you don't usually get with a free walking tour. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend doing this tour with Hakim when you first arrive in KL.

Orlando was great! He knew a lot about the LDS Church from personal experience, and provided lots of interesting information and history of Salt Lake City. Afterall, the LDS Church is the backbone of SLC. My daughter and I had a private tour, which lasted about 2-1/2 hours. We saw all the important buildings around Temple Square and also the gorgeous Capital Building. At the end, we caught the last of the grand pipe organ practice in the Conference Center. Orlando is from Peru, very hard-working, making a living for his family. I appreciated the time and effort he put into making this an enjoyable, informative tour. He hopes to start his own business taking people on tours to Peru and other places. Good luck, Orlando!
