Free Tour "Discover Allariz"
Hello! We are Travellers, and we want to offer you the best way to get to know Galicia in an educational and entertaining way. We do not want to make a succession of data, we want to make you part of what you see. With a little imagination and the necessary resources you can travel back in time with us and feel the city as your own. Shall we travel?
Tour description
Talking about Allariz is talking about history, culture, architecture, gastronomy or nature. A town with more than a thousand years of life that mixes the history of the old town with the tranquility and beauty of the Arnoia river. Are you coming to discover it?
We will meet at Alto do Portelo and we will walk towards Monte do Castelo , where we will begin our trip overlooking Allariz from a small hill. Don't forget your camera!
Do you know that Allariz was the capital of Galicia and the residence of kings? We will immerse ourselves in the medieval town knowing places as emblematic as the Jewish quarter , the old walls , the Convent of Santa Clara or the four Romanesque churches that exist.
Walking through its streets we will take the opportunity to narrate legends, such as the origin of the Festa do Boi or the history of Romasanta , the "wolfman of Allariz".
Finally, we will relax walking along the Arnoia river and we will explain the importance of the river for the inhabitants of Allariz from the Paseo del Arnado.
