Get To Know Ljubljana - walking tour
Tour description
Welcome to the walking tour of Ljubljana, the greenest capital in Europe!
We'll start the walk through the medieval part of the city, through narrow cobbled streets and across bridges that span the Ljubljanica river. The old town has many interesting sights. Among them are the Robba Fountain representing Slovenia`s most important rivers, Ljubljana Cathedral with its beautiful bronze doors representing Slovene history, the Central Market where locals shop for their next meal, and the Dragon Bridge adorned with 4 green dragons, protectors of the city.
Afterwards we will walk to the National Assembly to learn about Slovenia's time as a part of former Yugoslavia and the fight for our independence.
Since Ljubljana is a small but vibrant capital, the walk will also give us a glimpse into the life of everyday residents of Ljubljana. You will see them sitting around in cafes and discussing life, love, and how to spend the next sunny afternoon. Life here seems almost too good to be true.
At the end of the tour we will pass a former monastery turned concert hall and walk through one of the quaintest neighbourhoods, that was once well known for supplying the residents of Ljubljana with fresh vegetables.
We will finish back at our starting point.
So sign up to really experience Ljubljana.
The minimum number of participants on the tour is four (4) persons.
