Free tour of Montjuïc (the magical mountain of Barcelona)

We invite you to discover a perfect conjunction between nature, history, and architectural beauty: The Montjüic mountain.

We propose a walking tour where you will get to know some of its most outstanding places, while we discover its origins, its connection with some of the most emblematic constructions of Barcelona, the reason for its name, and how it became one of the must-see places in Barcelona's geography.

We will start the tour at the Mossèn Costa i Llobera Gardens, where we will learn about cactus species from all over the world, while enjoying one of the best views from the Mountain, walking around the mountain and observing the sea.

We will also have a space for ancient history, passing by the Montjuic Castle, an old 18th-century fortress, and the remains of the old Jewish cemetery, where we will tell you how the history of this place intertwines with iconic spaces in the center of Barcelona.

We will return to recent history to encounter the Montjuic Olympic Ring, a set of facilities that were part of the space where the 1992 Olympic Games took place. We will find some of the symbols of this sporting history, which still remains alive in the daily life of its inhabitants.

We will stroll through the Miramar Gardens, one of the main parks created for the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition. Among panoramic views of the city, sculptures, and fountains that hide legends, you will learn about the history of the ambitious architectural project that turned an almost uninhabited hill into the small city it is today.

We will end the tour at one of the most imposing constructions of the tour: Plaza España. In addition to the emblematic Venetian towers, built to serve as the entrance to the International Exposition, we will visit the National Art Museum of Catalonia, where we will say goodbye hoping to see you again soon in the city.
