Artisans and Other Humans of Naples

  • 2 hours

Description

n Naples, every corner tells a story, every face holds a craft, every workshop is a small universe waiting to be explored.

This is not a tour to follow but time to share. With the ancient gestures of artisans, with the rough voice of the Quartieri Spagnoli, with hands that invent, carve, repair, weaving invisible threads between past and present.

It's the people who trace the way, and it can change depending on who takes part, on what we find open that day, on where a half-open door or a conversation that runs longer than expected takes us.

In the heart of the alleys and the life of the neighborhood, we take the time for a coffee that smells of distant times, observing the apparent contrasts of gentrification and the importance of a social and cultural fabric.

With people we talk about trades that struggle to survive, about what it means to stay in a neighborhood that's changing its skin, about local social initiatives, or we simply share a moment, letting it take shape among those taking part.

It's an informal, adaptable experience, one that changes with the pace of those taking part and the mood of the Neapolitan sky.

Naples isn't visited: it's crossed, breathed in, let in.

Hello! I am Emanuele and I was born and live in Naples, I am deeply in love with the whole gulf of which I consider myself a child, I love to get in touch with the contrasting and fragmented realities that characterize the Neapolitan area and in particular my beloved city, just as I love very much travel and discover cultures and customs different from mine. I have been working in tourism and public relations for 10 years, and I have always felt the need to deviate from the way of doing mass tourism, preferring a vision more oriented towards "travelers" rather than "tourists", putting in contact the people with the different colors of local realities and listen to the thousand voices and the thousand stories they tell. I am not a formal guide but rather I consider myself a cultural mediator between the traveler and the world I know, in order to help him feel part of the reality that surrounds him so that he can touch it with his hand, and experience it, rather than looking at it from the outside as in a shop window. I also believe that this is the best way to make everyone's experience more informal, spontaneous and genuine. So what are you waiting for? Are you coming for a friendly walk with me?
