Ljubljana may look like a quiet and elegant city today, but throughout history it stood at the crossroads of Roman, medieval, Habsburg and Yugoslav worlds – and each of them left its stories behind.

Our walk begins in the lively Prešeren Square, the symbolic heart of the city, where Slovenia’s greatest poet still watches over the people passing by. Here we will open one of the most beautiful chapters of Slovenian culture – the story of France Prešeren and his muse Julija.

From there we will cross the elegant Triple Bridge, the masterpiece of architect Jože Plečnik, and enter the vibrant atmosphere of the Central Market, where Ljubljana reveals its everyday life and traditions.

As we wander through the historic squares of the old town – Congress Square, Town Square and New Square – we will discover how Ljubljana evolved from a small provincial town into the charming capital we see today.

Along the way we will cross picturesque bridges such as the Cobblers’ Bridge and Butchers’ Bridge, explore hidden corners, and notice details that many visitors walk past without ever seeing.
